The Nutcracker is all about fantasy, whimsy, wonder and excitement. I incorporated a circus theme into my designs for this iconic ballet to give a visually stimulating overall aesthetic and to sensationalise the characters further. I wanted bright, bold colours and unfamiliar silhouettes to further the sense of 'other worldliness' and childish discovery.
