The concept for my designs for Iolanthe by Gilbert and Sullivan stemmed from my interest in drag and drag culture and how the power on stage would shift if the gender roles were swapped. Each character was designed with their own colour scheme - whilst the Fairy  Queen's is predominantly pink, the flowers on her bodice represent a comglomeration of all of her Fairy cohort.The undergarments consist of a corset with padded fake breasts, alongside a tutu like underskirt which altogether gives my male model a feminine silhouette.
